Finally, the day came that we said GOODBYE to the MILK CUP! Caroline has been completely attached to the Nuby cup (aka, glorified bottle if you ask me) since she got off of her baby bottle and it is totally a comfort thing for her. We let her hang on to it since she gave her paci up, but it was time to give up the milk cup. She had to have it at all times and it was totally driving me crazy.
Well, I told her the other day that her friend was going to see Dr. Cook (their pediatric dentist) & she was going to give her cup to him. I just said it in passing and apparently it stuck with Caroline and she woke up this morning asking to go to Dr. Cook's to give him her milk cup since the babies needed it! Well, after we went to have pictures made, went to the Science Museum, ate lunch & let Hayes take a nap, she was BEGGING to go to Dr. Cook's office! So off we went....Milk Cups in tow! The receptionists were frantic when they saw me walking up with two small kids as we weren't down in the appointment books and they did not know we were coming. I walked in and Caroline quickly announced that she had her milk cups to give to Dr. Cook. I had to step in to explain what she was talking about & the ladies at the front desk so politely played along. They thought it was so cute & made a huge deal about her being such a big girl for giving the cups to the babies! I let her play with the train set for a few minutes and much to my total surprise, Dr. Cook came out to see her! How sweet was that? He gave her a new tooth brush and told her how proud he was of her. He was so sweet to her & she totally froze & wouldn't say a word. It was hilarious! She had talked about him all day and there he was and she was 'star struck' it was a hoot!
So far, so good with no milk cup---hopefully this will go as well as the paci to the birds did!

i am so proud of caroline and of you too brittany. maybe i'll try that to get rid of conner's nuby cup. we went to baton rouge saturday and the cup got left behind and he would not drink out of any other cup we gave him. only a few sips out of a water bottle. as soon as we got home, he ran to the drawer, got his cup, gave it a kiss and told the cup he had missed it. comfort item much? those nuby cups are "toddler crack."
That's the best story! Dr. Cook is awesome. Aiden loves him, too. And I don't blame her for being a little star struck...he's pretty cute! :)
YEAH Caroline!!!!!!!!! That is sooo cute that she wanted to do that. I bet he remembers that one for a while. Sounds like a nice office!
