We could not have had a more pleasant night! We started off with great friends, good food and fellowship on the front porch and waited for a few trick or treaters. Troy blew the jumpy house up and the kids had a ball. Our friends and neighbors, the Cross family, brought Thomas and Caroline (we call her little Caroline) over and the kids ate at the little table. Everyone ate dinner and behaved---it was really amazing! Our new neighbors, Tina and Lamar came over as well as Emily and David Harbarger, Nana, Gamma and John. We ate a great crawfish bisque (thanks for the recipe Kelly--ask her if she wants to share!), wonderful vegetable soup (thanks Catherine), salad and yummy desserts. It was a perfect way to just hang out and visit.
We thought we would just hit a few houses on our street to trick or treat and see how the kids liked it and boy they loved it! Caroline, Hayes and Thomas would walk right up and pretty much scream "Trick or Treat" then start laughing. Hayes and Thomas would just say 'I want candy' and Catherine and I would stand in pure horror and apologize to our neighbors that were all good sports. Our Caroline went to every house she could and did not miss a single house that had a light on. Hayes started to get worn out after a while and wanted to be carried. Nana gave in to carrying this load but after carrying 35lbs of love plus his 3lbs of candy it got tough. Nana and John headed back to the house as Nana's back was about to give out and I was left to carry this large elephant. Caroline was
not skipping any houses so Gamma and Troy let her finish out the block. Emily and David were along for the ride and were good sports and the kids loved having them there with us!

What a fun neighborhood and time we had on Thursday night. Oh yes, you read that correctly...Thursday night. Our county changed it to Thursday due to Friday night football and the police force needing to patrol the streets and families that would attend the games didn't want to miss all of the festivities----only in our little county-----I love it!
