Birthday Season

It's the start of what we call 'Birthday Season' as all of Hayes's friends are starting to turn 2. He was born with a slew of boys {and a few girls} and we are in high gear with birthday parties. Birthday Season will last until mid-fall for Hayes and Caroline's birthday season is in the Spring....so we are basically in Birthday Season year round *so goes life with two kids 14 months apart! We were able to attend this party with just Hayes. While we missed having Caroline there with us, we were thankful for the one on one time with Hayes. We love getting to devote our undivided attention to each child when we can and this gave us the perfect opportunity to watch him play with kids his own age and really play however he wanted to without having his sister hanging all over him. They really are best friends {& best enemies sometimes!} and they love hanging around one another, but it is good for us to spend time with each child alone. So, Troy and I had a great time with just Hayes and his sweet friends. As you can see, Hayes had a great time.

The parties kicked off with Carter's farm party. Carter is too cute and is getting so big---they all are! Where is the time going? All of the kids played well together, especially Riley and Hayes. Riley belongs to our friends Ben & Tiffany and she is a doll. She and Hayes shared all of their cake, their pp&j sandwiches and even shared their juice boxes...it was hilarious. Hayes is usually a bit rough, but not with Riley. He was so sweet to her. We loved watching them play together. Hayes took a turn riding on Carter's 4 wheeler and he loved it. It was his first time on a motorized vehicle (I know, we are behind the times, old fashioned parents---our kids have no motorized riding toys) and he loved it! He also showed everyone his "Dino Roar" hence the mean face. It is so funny when he roars! He takes it very seriously and I see a dino costume for his Halloween future...

Carson was happy all day long and was just so sweet. He has the cutest smile and the greatest disposition. He has grown so much over the last year, too, that it is amazing to watch these little ones grow!

How about this cake and those cupcakes? Amazing, huh!!! Dream Cakes here in Brandon did it and it tasted as good as it looks....We had a great time at the party and Carter seemed to have fun, too! Happy Birthday Carter!
