Before heading back to Texas, my brother's family wanted to stop for a quick visit to the Natural Science Museum {have you signed up for Science Camp?} to say one last goodbye to Nana and to take a look around. Mom asked Corey (the one showing us all of the animals) for a huge favor and he was so nice that he took us right in and let us have a one on one look at some of the animals. The kids had a ball looking at them and touching the snakes and turtles. Hayes was a bit apprehensive at first but really got into the turtles. Adeline & Caroline were all about the snakes (she gets this from Troy as I am NOT A SNAKE FAN!).
Funny story: Hayes finally warmed up to the turtle. He took a few steps closer to the turtle and the turtle started to move as fast as a turtle can move, heading directly for Hayes's shoes. I think the turtle thought that his shoes were his lunch....his shoes looked like turtle food. Hayes did not like the turtle charging him and he quickly wanted me to 'Hold To'--that's what he says when he wants to be held.
