Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to the Pumpkin Patch and had a great time. Nana (Brittany's Mom) & Gamma (Troy's Mom) came along to help out and have fun. If you have never been to the Pumpkin Patch & live in the Jackson area, it is a must do event for the Fall season. We have been for the last three years and it keeps getting better. Pictures, on the other hand, are not getting better. We can get great pictures of each child individually, but together is IMPOSSIBLE---and we have given up on a good family picture. Maybe in a few years.
Anyway, the day started with a tour around the grounds. They aren't very big, but there is a gated area with several animals. Last year we were able to mosey around a bit, but the Hay Ride was loading up and we had to scoot today. Our hay ride consisted of us and two other families (the 2p.m. hay ride was completely packed!). It was so nice to have the ride basically to ourselves. We were taken by two sections with animals. One had a Zedonk (part zebra and part donkey) and it was named Alice. Alice is a sight and we were told they are showing one at the State Fair right now for $5----go to the Pumpkin Patch and get a pumpkin, hay ride, and animal show for $5! Once we passed the Zedonk and two deer, we saw several goats and the largest cow I have ever seen up close. We also got to ride by a catfish pond to watch feeding time. It was so cute to see Caroline get so excited over the fish. She really enjoyed her day & Hayes was obsessed with the tractor that was driving us. They had a great day & were totally exhausted when we got home. Troy & I were hoping for a multiple hour nap, but no luck. They both slept for about an hour and were ready to go again. Needless to say, we are tired and trying to clean the house---I really think cleaning will never end. Here are a few (okay, more than a few) pictures of our fun day!

Caroline was telling us what the whistle on the tractor was saying...choo choo (we know, that is a train, but she saw the whistle & started directing all of us on which arm to raise up and pull down---it was so cute!).



Here is our attempt at a family picture---one of about 40 that we tried to take. Hayes is such a squirmy boy that he was about to slip out of Troy's arms. He weighs more than Caroline & was about to knock Troy down. We are lucky to all be standing!
